Hello everyone,
This year, I am doing my poem a day a little differently. I am writing a new poem every day, and these blog posts will go more in-depth on the process.
The word from the random word generator was TIN
Here is the poem:
Sewing supplies in a cookie tin.
What a huge disappointment.
Until you need a pair of jeans patched up
or a hole in your favorite sweater to magically disappear.
You always know with that blue container
it will either be shortbread or short stitches.
I constantly wonder how that became the universal container for sewing supplies,
but I always forget to ask Google or anyone I know about it.
I think about one day how I won't have that containner
or anyone to teach me to sew.
So I wish it was filled with cookies.
Wishing I was the Tin Man looking for his heart
as I know a before that no longer exists.
Trying to stitch pieces of my memory back.
I know that everyone has experience with these tins. I wanted to write about the disappointment in that experience and how sometimes we just need to change perspective.
