Hello everyone,
This year, I am doing my poem a day a little differently. I am writing a new poem every day, and these blog posts will go more in-depth on the process.
The word from the random word generator was BANISH
Here is the poem:
I wish it was easier to forget
banish the thought in the first place.
Before it can become words that tumble out of my mouth.
I don’t regret them, but there are parts I do.
I love you holds a weight that I can be clumsy with.
That some people hold as though it’s light as a feather.
I feel like Sisyphus with the boulder
same task every day.
But maybe I’m learning something
different and new every time.
Which is why it is not easy to forget,
and maybe why thoughts aren’t banished to the dark crevices of my mind.
I can’t believe I started the poem the same way as yesterday. My mind went to so many different places, and I struggled with it. I think this ended up being a successful poem, but there are many things I would edit.
