Hello everyone,
This year, I am doing my poem a day a little differently. I am writing a new poem every day, and these blog posts will go more in-depth on the process.
The word from the random word generator was FAMILIAR
Here is the poem:
Drinks at a bar, looks at a concert, stares over dinner.
I know the feeling all too well.
I've become far too familiar with the change of eyes
from person to object.
From I can hear you and see you
to I wonder what that's like naked.
The staring at lips but no longer hearing anything that comes out of my mouth.
It's easy to feel the shift
to go from equals to prey.
It's not always like this
but it's far too regular
that I don't trust a drink, dinner, or a concert sometimes.
This one is for the people who have been on a date where you know the person doesn’t actually care to know anything about you, you are just a body to them. I’ve noticed this a lot in my dating life recently, so I decided to take a step back.
