Hello everyone,

This year, I am doing my poem a day a little differently. I am writing a new poem every day, and these blog posts will go more in-depth on the process.

The word from the random word generator was BLAME

Here is the poem:

Blame is easy.
Passed around like a game of hot potato.
Anyone can be blamed for anything, even if they didn’t do it.
It’s easier that way. But is easy the best?
If blame always points fingers at others and never looks at one’s self
it may never notice a pattern
or
the one noticed is not as helpful as a deeper look
or
even just one look in the mirror.
Blame can lack depth.
It can focus emotions in a direction
but probably not the path they should actually go.
I hope blame can take a look in the mirror sometime.

This one was fun and honestly inspired a lot by the song Blame by The Maine. You can take a listen here. The chorus talks about how much easier it is to be the person someone else blames. It’s a really good song and very catchy, but yeah that’s all that my brain kept going to, and I couldn’t just flat out copy them, because of copyright and also it’s just rude, so I did my own spin on it.

Thank you for being a part of the poem a day! Let me know if you’d like them to continue.
