Highlight Show(s) of the Past Week
I saw 3 shows this week, but I can only talk about 2, as one of them was a taped performance that will be broadcast later in the year. But I went to one show on Friday and another show on Sunday. I saw Juice at Mercury Lounge. I know I’ve talked about them before. I’ve seen them many times within the last year, but this show was for sure my favorite of theirs. The energy in the room was electric, and it felt like we, as audience members, were invited into a jam session. The other show I saw was Jesse James DeConto and David Wimbish (The Collection), also at Mercury Lounge. It was an early slot Sunday show, and the weather was a little drizzly. It wasn’t a packed audience, but it was a perfect, intimate one; the room’s vibes matched the music perfectly, and though I wish more people were there, it was nice to breathe and have time with the artists.
