I saw 2 shows this week and had the show with the choir I am in. I went to a music meetup on Monday, which meets every other Monday at the Bowery Palace, formerly known as the Bowery Electric. The first part of the night is networking, and there are normally 2 bands that perform. On Monday, Evil Twin and Sara Michelle Lee performed. I had not heard about them before this event. The drummers in both bands were epic. I loved the more punk 90s sound with Sara Michelle Lee, and Evil Twin has so many headbangers. Scott Patterson, AKA Luke from Gilmore Girls, made a surprise visit and did a set with his band to end the night. They were so fun, but I also felt like I was living in a weird fever dream. On Wednesday, I went back to Bowery Palace to support the person I’ve been seeing (they played in every band). All of the bands were incredible, and I am not just saying that because I am biased. Dov Beck-Levine was in charge of the room, the groove was funky, and so were the lyrics. Cat Barker’s band was so sassy, the background vocalists were so talented, and their personal style was so 90s early 2000s. Last, but definitely not least, was Prizilla, a band where the lead singer plays saxophone and is a phenomenal vocalist. I am honestly speechless about the talent of all of them.
