Highlight Show(s) of the Past Week

I saw one show this week on Wednesday at Arlene’s Grocery, it was a night presented by ChaiBoost, which is a celebration of global music. The night started with Nicole Caracost. I missed a bit of her set as I was commuting from work. Her set was very indie-influenced with a hint of soul in some of the orchestrations. Next was Sarah Khatami, with soulful vocals and intricate lyrics. After was Mark Natama, whose vocals were absolutely outstanding; he has an R&B mixed with a pop vibe. Lastly, an artist I know and love who I have seen so many times already this year, Lora Mouna, mixes haunting vocals with amazing storytelling in a mix of indie-rock and folk. She has some new songs coming out that I cannot wait for you all to hear.

Listen to them here: Lora Mouna, Mark Natama, Sarah Khatami, Nicole Caracost.

Answering Your Questions/Talking Time

I’m normally not a sports person, but the energy in the city after the Knicks’ win has been infectious. I love the feel of the streets and the camaraderie between everyone. It brings a little sense of light and hope to a world that can feel tiring and hopeless at times.
